Snow

As we’ve had our first snowfall of the winter season this past week it’s important to remember the safety hazards of snow. As pretty it is to watch and look at, we all know the dangerous side of snow. On the job site snow accumulates pretty heavily on the decks, which is also where a majority of work occurs. So please keep in mind:

• Snow, while not looking like much, can add a large amount of extra load so keep in mind when carrying or supporting something with snow

• Sometimes it’s already hard enough to walk around on the decks in good weather conditions, but with snow it’ll make the floor more slippery than before

• Snow can cover and hide objects/materials/tools, so be careful when stepping in deep snow

• Ice can lay under a layer of powdery snow, and cause slips and falls
