Army Reserve Base
Rigid military specifications and schedules combine for LEED Silver project.
Client
Army Corps of Engineers
Location
Homewood, IL
The Project
The Army Reserve Base of Homewood, Illinois included the renovation of an existing building and a 30,000 square foot addition, a build out of offices, conference rooms and a fully functioning kitchen.
The Challenges
A renovation and project of this scope is a walk in the park most of the time. However, military specifications and extreme unexpected obstacles made this project a particular challenge for all involved. Delays due to hidden containers of rocket fuel and a buried Nike missile launching pad wreaked havoc with the schedule. However, Shamrock Electric helped the Army Corp of Engineers stay as close to schedule as possible and finished this project with minimal delay.
The Shamrock Solution
Shamrock Electric helped build this LEED Silver project with top of the line materials, extensive accessibility, and complicated controls.
Plentiful lighting controls and power monitoring equipment
Low Voltage systems such as access control, fire alarm, and lighting controls are complicated and extensive
Top of the line lightning protection and grounding system implemented on the buildings
16 kW Solar Array in addition to standard electrical systems
