Whether you have been working on the same project for a while or recently started on a new project you need to have a plan should an emergency occur for how to exit the building or site in a quick and safe fashion. This includes more than simply knowing where the nearest exit is. You should always be aware of the 3 points that make up a successful “Means of Egress”. The list includes: 1) having a clear path to your intended exit, 2) making sure the exit point itself is clear, 3) making sure after crossing through your exit point, you have a clear path to continue moving to a safe and secure location. Keeping these 3 points in mind will help you in any emergency situation. In case of an emergency on your project, know where your “rally place” is so you can get counted. If you don’t get counted, we will tell the first responders you are still in the building.
