Falling Objects

11 Jul

Falling or moving objects disable more than 260,000 workers a year.  To break that down, for every 100 workers 14 of those workers get struck by an object. The most common injury from falling objects is head injuries.  That is why hard hats are so important and so heavily stressed; sometimes it can mean the difference in having a minor injury and a major/fatal injury. BUT, a head injury isn’t the only thing to worry about.  You can get struck on any part of your body from a falling object.  Aside from your hard hat it is always important to wear all your PPE. Your steel toed boots protect your feet, gloves provide some measure of protection and your safety vest or wearing safety colored clothing helps you stand out so people know you’re there.
